NEW CLASS Full Residential Inspection Course
11 Day - 90 hours (weekdays or weekends)

This 90 hour Full Residential Inspection training program teaches the student how to inspect a home in compliance with the State of Arizona Board of Technical Registration, and numerous nationally recognized home inspection associations Standards of Practices.
ITA provides a "Hands on" experience, the student will conduct a real home inspection, will learn report writing techniques and learn how to set up and run a successful Home Inspection business. There is no prior experience required in the building industry to become a home inspector.
The Home Inspection profession has not been adversely affected by the housing crisis. In fact, due to the number of foreclosures and short sales, the number of home inspections has increased the past couple of years. Housing foreclosures in Arizona are projected to stay at their current levels for another four years making this profession a very favorable one.
Inspection Training of Arizona will prepare the student in two ways to proceed in this profession, successfully operate their own business (self employed) or to join an established inspection company. After registering for class, the student will receive our classroom text book, Principles of Home Inspection: Systems and Standards, Second Edition, Carson Dunlop. The student is encouraged to read this book prior to class.
The Home Inspection business is an emerging field with limitless potential.
Our flexible scheduling allows you to attend 11 consecutive days or 6 consecutive weekends. If you are not able to attend all consecutive days in a course, our curriculum allows you to make up the missed section at a later series. This provides you with flexibility for your busy schedule. This class will highlight all of the structures and systems that you originally covered during your initial training however this time only addressing the essential points of each section. Re-familiarize yourself with important aspects of the inspection process. Commercial Inspection

The Commercial Property Inspection Course is taught by experienced commercial property inspectors and designed to teach the business of commercial inspecting, including general theory and practical applications of running a successful business, as well as insights into marketing and advertising. Multi-story office buildings, strip shopping centers, apartment complexes, industrial warehouses, and many other types of commercial properties are purchased by investors who need quality inspections and information. This classroom course provides guidelines and actual skills necessary to perform a pre-purchase inspection and prepare a written, narrative report on a commercial property. You will conduct a real "Hands On" commercial inspection at the end of the class.

LEAD Renovation, Repair and Painting- For Contractors!

Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children. To protect against this risk, on April 22, 2008, EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning April 22, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
Our LEAD training course has been approved by the U.S. EPA and is only approved for purposes of certification under Section 402 of TSCA. Please visit our Classroom Courses page to learn more about this class.

Our LEAD renovation class will be taught by John Godsey. John is one of our home inspector instructors, a licensed home inspector and has been a licensed contractor for over 30 years.

Manufactured and Modular Home Inspection

The need for qualified manufactured home inspectors is on the rise in this growing industry and you can fill that need. In January 2006 alone nearly 12,000 manufactured homes were shipped from HUD certified manufacturers and the production numbers are expected to increase. Single wide to triple wide, these unique, high quality homes are becoming the norm, not the exception. You will have the option of attending a tour of a local Manufactured Home construction site, giving you a "Hands On" approach to understand how the Manufactured Home is constructed.

Parallel Inspections
Before you can become a certified home inspector, you must complete 30 parallel inspections with a licensed home inspector. Inspection Training of Arizona will coordinate with participating inspection companies throughout the valley to help you fullfill this very valuable training.
Individual field training consists of a one-on-one inspection with an inspector. The student will observe the inspection of all the various visible and accessible systems and components in the home and its exterior. They will also have the opportunity to observe how the inspector interacts with the clients, seller and real estate agents and how information about the home is conveyed to the clients through the inspection report.
The students will be required to fill out their own inspection report forms as he or she follow the inspector around the property.
Time spent on field inspections can greatly enhance a student's understanding of the whole process.

Pool & Spa Inspection

ITA's Experienced Inspector/Instructors will demystify the sometimes complex and often misunderstood world of Pool and Spa Inspection in this comprehensive 8 hour class. You will also perform a "Hands On" inspection of a pool at the end of this class.
